Vintage Lefton Ceramic Christmas Tree Girl And Boy Figurines Japan

  

These cuties came from a wonderful estate sale. Very sadly, the girl figure is damaged, but the boy is in good shape. Here's what I found. The girl's free hand is chipped. Her white hat has light crazing.

Her arm broke off at one point and the stocking was also broken into pieces and reglued. The paint on her red buttons is chipped. She is marked 2400 and the adhesive for her Japan sticker is still there.

With her damage still looks cute on the shelf! Don't we wish we could all say the same! The boy is in overall good shape. I've clean both delicately with some dawn and a toothbrush, but didn't want to do more, so there's a little grime still on him. There's a spot on the back of his head that appears to be some surface color, but I can't get it off with my nail, so not sure. His face has some grime on it, but I didn't want to try to clean it off in case I damaged his face paint. This hat tassle is in good shape. His hat shows some crazing. There's some wax on the stocking.

His shoulder shows a flaw in the paint, but this may have been a firing flaw. His lower button has some slight paint loss. He is marked 2400 and has his Japan sticker still. I've tried to take really good photos so you can see exactly what to expect. Please look carefully at photos.
