1840 Elaborate Antique Valentine's Day Card with Real Silk. This is an original antique Valentines Day card. It is NOT a reproduction. They were made with lace, honeycomb paper, scraps of die cut images such as flowers, animals, children, angels, women and hearts.

Often they are layered and have paper springs between the layers to give them a popped out 3-D look. This beautiful card has English Paper Lace. On the middle of card is real gold colored silk cloth with a gold vase with flowers. The verse on the scroll says In me you shall find a Valentine both true & kind. Th scroll has dark aging on it.

This card is American Hand Assembled. This card and envelope are mounted on a piece of card stock. The card is from 1840. On envelope it says "Paid 3" Sent before had any regular stamps. Card Stock Mounting Measures about 8-1/2" W x 10" H. Guaranteed to be "old" and authentic.
