Vtg Gantz Foil Wrapped Faux Chocolate Easter Bunnies Rabbits- A Rare 21 Pair

A rare to find in such large scale and as a matched pair in this style. Celebrate Easter with a dash of nostalgia and whimsy! This striking pair of oversized faux chocolate rabbits stands an impressive 21 inches tall, each wrapped in richly colored foil with delightful Victorian-inspired attire. Though unmarked, these are strongly attributed to Gantz - known for their high-quality seasonal decor and collectible faux confections.

The original labels appear to have been removed by a previous owner, a common occurrence with display pieces of this era. Multicolor foil wrap in hues of silver, gold, green, pink, and purple, over a solid molded composite form of resin, making this pair both sturdy and of high quality.

The male bunny weighs 3 lb. And the female - 3.5 lb. The widest part of each measures about 8 inches.

They are ideal for a mantel, centerpiece/tabletop display, or shop display. The rabbits have a Victorian-style element present: The male is dressed in a dapper suit with a bow tie and carrying a cane, reminiscent of Victorian-style dress, while the female is holding a parasol and carrying a large basket on her back that measures 4 deep, perfect for your favorite Easter candy or left empty. Both attire echoes 19th-century fashion tropes that were often used in nostalgic Easter imagery.

Their upright, dignified stance and anthropomorphic presentation are reminiscent of Victorian portraiture and figurines. Gantz and similar makers often leaned into "storybook Victoriana" - not true period replication, but a romanticized, theatrical version used in holiday decor from the mid-20th century onward. The good news is that it was a clean break with no damage to the foil around that area. Because of the hard, solid resin and the fact that the foil wasn't damaged, it was easily repaired, and the repaired area cannot be seen, as I've demonstrated in the "Before and After" photo. I conducted a thorough inspection of the female's body, and I felt no broken parts under the foil.

Overall condition of both rabbits: Both pieces exhibit normal but minor signs of age, such as a few places where small pieces of the foil have peeled.
