REX 1908 Pen Tray New Orleans Mardi Gras Krewe Favor DEN6124
1908 Krewe of Rex Brass Pen Tray. This Art Nouveau item was manufactured for the Krewe of Rex in New Orleans in 1908. These lovely favors were for the King of Rex to give out to his favored subjects during the Mardi Gras Celebration that year. There is obvious usage marks and bright spots void of patina as well as remnants of brass polish and verdigris on the reverse. One can easily shine it completely or leave it as is. It is 6" wide, 1-3/4" tall and 4 long. There is a thin metal plate that has become unattached to the underside which was used to hide the cavity within the king. PLEASE REVIEW ALL PHOTOS WITH CARE.
