Antique Christmas Santa Doll Crepe Paper Cotton Stuffed XX RARE Dated 1915 24×13
I had listed this Fabulous Antique Crepe Paper, Santa Doll, a couple of days ago, Framed and Sealed. The History of the Santa Doll was Handwritten, in Ink, on back of the Matt. It reads that He was framed by Jerry Shuman, 12-12-93. Also written THE SANTA IS PROBABLY ABOUT 80 YEARS OLD. HOPE HE SURVIVES ANOTHER 100.
Then signed by Jerry Shuman. It is still mounted on the Cardboard Matt. This is that OLD Crepe Paper, that was popular, during this time period, for Halloween and Christmas decorations.
Front and Back were glued together, and stuffed with Cotton. He has a few seams that have come open, where you can see the Cotton Stuffing. No Cotton Stuffing is falling out, and the Doll is very secure.
Jolly Santa has a sweet, detailed face. His Coat and Trousers are trimmed with Fur. A Bag, stuffed with toys, slung over his back. The Santa is in good Antique condition. Colors are still strong, with just the right amount of fading, age patina and wear, wanted in an Antique. As stated, a few side seams are slightly open. He feels very secure, and I think he will last another 100 years, if taken good care of. I have never seen another one like him. The Matt measures approximately 24"×13". The Santa himself measures approximately 20"×9".
