Wood Christmas Tree Stand Fence Lighted Base Display Lights Firemen Fence Rare
Item for your consideration is a super rare, believed to be... Bridgeport Firemen fenced in gated Christmas tree stand- platform. It looks to have been made from early 1930's from the craftsmanship and the wiring, and C7 size bulbs originated in 1934. I have tested the lights- and it works perfectly, the only issue is that one of the sockets requires a bulb with a pointed extension on the bulb to fit the socket and light. It is included and working.
It is one of the blue bulbs. The cloth covered wire is in good condition. These stands were made from the late 1920's thru 1980 by Bridgeport Connecticut fireman at their station houses between calls to donate to needy families- they would gift them silently to the porches of people in need. This one has a ton of detail to include railings, posts, wire banister railing at the stairs. Super hard to find and very rare to come by.
Will be securely boxed and insured. This is a great piece.
Measures approximately 23 1/2" wide, by 23" by 8 tall. The 8 tall includes the bulb in place. The 23" also has a 3" protrusion of steps making it essentially 26. This has 11 working lights and a outlet to plug a strand of lights into. The light sockets are C7 size.
This has 2 on off switches one that operates all the lights on the platform and one that operates the lights on the socket. Rare and believed to be a Bridgeport Firemen fenced in lighted Christmas tree stand platform in very good condition.
This would be great decorated for other seasons such as Easter or Valentine's day and could be easily done with changing bulb colors and themed trees. I have seen where larger trees are used with this and or small trees as I have done.
