Scarce 1882 New Orleans Mardi Gras, Knights Of Momus Invitation Card

  

For your consideration is an exceedingly scarce, original 1882 invitation for the Knights of Momus at the New Orleans Mardi Gras. Invitation is laid down (glued) into a scrapbook page. One of the triangle edges of the star design is missing its tip, and that same triangle has a few fold lines (see photos). Condition is otherwise very good as you can see. This was reportedly designed by Charles Briton (Swedish/New Orleans) and is considered the "Ramayana" design after Hindu iconography.
