President Truman's Christmas gift to his staff for 1949. The Truman's presented their White House staff with a two-key leather holder: one key for home, one for the office.

The leather case is stamped with the presidential seal in gold and "1949" on one side and gold lettering on the other: Christmas Greetings from the President and Mrs. Mary Seeley's book Season's Greetings From The White House does not say how many gifts were presented in 1949 but they are quite rare. She does report that the 1948 gift was only given to 740 people. The 1949 count was certainly comparable. This case is a nearly pristine example.

It would be difficult to find a nicer example. This item is offered by Custodians of History, Inc. This item is in the category "Collectibles\Historical Memorabilia\Political\US\Presidents & First Ladies".
