Antique Putz CHRISTMAS RAM SHEEP Striped Coat Decoration Wooly Stick Leg Germany. ANTIQUE PUTZ CHRISTMAS RAM SHEEP.

Adorable antique Christmas Putz ram sheep decoration measuring about 2-1/4" long and 2-1/2" tall. Featuring delicate wood stick legs painted cream with dainty black hooves, this little cutie wears a napped wool coat decorated in a deep brown random striped pattern on cream ground -- bentwood or ribbed paper collar is moss green.

Composition head and ears with hand painted bump eyes, a long snout and pinky-red nose - I can see two tiny holes underneath the edge of the wool head tuft where there were probably tiny horns mounted - does not detract. Unstamped, but made in Germany.

Condition is lovely - ram stands firmly - legs are tight - there is a tiny paint flake off the end of his nose - coat tightly wraps the body and pattern is so unusual. Just a wonderful antique putz ram - a lovely addition to any holiday collection or Christmas display!
