This delightful item is powered by 4 AA batteries (not included). An adapter was NOT included when issued. When the on off/volume control is turned toward the maximum level, push the start button (this was omitted from the printed instructions) and hear the music play all the melodies below. This will also turn on the stage lights. Each of the various bear musicians plays a different instrument when positioned on the stage. When alone the music is only piano music. But when accompanied by one of the other bears, the music adds the sound of that bear's instrument. It is very ingenious, amusing, and sure to become a designated family heirloom.
